Feb 17 - 20 Great Backyard Bird Count

The Great Backyard Bird Count is a global event sponsored by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Audubon and Birds Canada. This year’s count is scheduled for February 17–20, 2023. Count the birds you see for as little as 15 minutes on one of the four days. Submit your sighting and photos online. The data collected contributes to the understanding of how bird populations are doing around the world. Scientists use this community science data to monitor, assess, and protect birds and their environment.

The GBBC is free, fun, and an easy way to engage birders of all ages and abilities. To learn more about the GBBC watch the Global Bird Count video here.
